The family gathered by the window to watch her go by. She walked with a skip in her step and a melody that couldn’t be matched. Everytime the girl walked by people stopped and stared. As she walked the lights around her shone brighter and her joy was contagious. No one knew who she was or where she came from. But everyone always wanted to be near her.
One day she came skipping down the street the way she always does but this time she wasn’t alone. Another girl was with her and they were being followed by a young boy. They were all dressed in white and a glow seemed to emanate from them. The houses and street lights grew brighter as they passed by. You could hear their musical laughter from a mile away and even farther once they started singing. No one understood the words to their song, but they did understand the feelings that came from it.
Then the next day there were even more people with her. They were all dressed in white with flowers in their hair, the men and women alike. They danced down the street laughing and smiling. Some people left their homes to join them not knowing what it was that compelled them except the feeling of a deep need to be a part of whatever it was they were a part of. Every now and then one of the people who joined them would suddenly change and become clothed in white.
Every day more and more people joined. The streets were filled with people clothed in white, laughing, singing, dancing, and leaving behind a bright glow. Their souls were illuminated and a deep peace emanated throughout the town.
And then, on the final day, there came a man. A man who was clothed in white and glowed like the others, but he stood out among them. The others paid him reverence and he looked upon his people with love. For from this man is where the others gained their glow. For this man was the Father of Lights and he had finally come to bring his children home.
