The True Legend

There was an old legend among my people. A legend about a fierce warrior, a talented bard, and a just ruler. Most stories claim they were three different people. But those of us who truly believe in the legends know that these are all the same. And that one day, He will be back.

First came the fierce warrior. He carries the shield of faith and the sword of the spirit. The legend goes that he will come marching into your city and all will look his way. He is not accompanied by an army, and yet people tremble in his presence. Using his mighty sword walls will be torn down, enemies defeated and cities razed.

The warrior will be followed by a talented bard, his only weapon his voice. He will be singing the song of ascent, and gathering the virtuous behind him. His words will persuade the hard hearted and slay those who dare to oppose. He will prepare the people for who comes next.

Finally the just ruler will enter. Every knee shall bow before the king with a circlet of thorns. He will take his rightful throne with his beloved people beside him. He will rule with a firm hand and an open heart. His reign will last forever and those he presides over love him beyond compare. And he loves them with a love so unimaginable it will overwhelm the hearts of his people.

And that is who we wait for. And if you had any sense… you’d wait for him too.
